Feature Friday: Iggy Core

Feature Friday: Iggy Core

The story of a RAG-based personal profile site

I slowed down quite a bit over the holidays, but it's time to get moving again so I have a new Feature Friday. I know it's not Friday, but I delivered the feature on Friday, this is just the explanation of how it all happened.

I wanted a personal portfolio site where people could learn about me and what I do outside of just the AI stuff. Yes, the AI stuff is there, but I'm more than just a geek.

My initial plan was to compare how two different models, Claude Opus 4.5 (Thinking) and Gemini 3 Flash in Google's Antigravity compared. I started with a Product Requirements Document (PRD) that I had generated using Gemini.

The plan was to feed the same PRD to two different models at the same time and compare how the models performed. I started up Antigravity and created two folders, GlennEuloth.ca and GlennEuloth2.ca and launched GlennEuloth.ca with Gemini 3 Flash and GlennEuloth2.ca with Claude Opus 4.5 (Thinking).

Honestly, for a while, they seemed to be making similar progress as I switched back and forth between the two open tabs working away.

Unfortunately, what I hadn't noticed, was that even though I had started with two different models, I got a lot of cross contamination very quickly because it wasn't until near the end of day one, Wednesday, that I had realized the UI was not keeping the models locked to their specific folder.

When I switched back and forth between folders, the models switched with me so when I thought I was using Opus, I was actually using Gemini Flash and vice-versa. The next test - if I decide to do one - doesn't seem to be able to be done concurrently, at least not without being hyper vigilant on every prompt.

By the end of Wednesday, however, I had a much better idea of what I wanted to build after building two complete working version of the site. I abandoned the comparison project and decided to finish my portfolio site and started planning on what I wanted.

I spent Thursday and Friday working through the solution and making adjustments. I'm reasonably happy with the final result. I hope you like it.

It's not a product I can ship, but it is a product I can use. If there is interest, I may figure out how to improve some of the features to make it usable by someone who doesn't know how to code. For now, it does what I want and I'm reasonably happy with the product as is.

Domo arigato gozaimashita.
